FORMER Chairman of the Oyo State Council board, Honourable Temilola Adibi, has hailed the promotion of Shooting Stars Football Club (3SC) of Ibadan to the elite cadre of the Nigeria Professional  Football League (NPFL).
Adibi, who is the current Director-General of the Oyo State Signage and Advertising Agency (OYSAA), in a statement issued on Sunday commended the doggedness of the players and officials of the team, stating that the team has successfully returned the lost glory of the internationally recognised football team.

He also noted that the latest development is part of the expected benefits of the remodelled Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
The former member of the House of Representatives said aside reawakening weekend sporting activities in Ibadan, 3SC’s campaign in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), would in no small measure contribute to the economic development of the state.

Adibi, also commended the governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde, for the support he gave to 3SC in the quest to reclaim its original status in the comity of Nigerian football clubs, while urging the governor not to relent so that the team would not have cause to be relegated to the lower division of the Nigerian football league.
He concluded by expressing optimism that with the kind of support the team is enjoying from the state government under the watch of Makinde, 3SC would as soon as possible begin to campaign on the continental scene as it is renowned for in the past years.
