The chairman, Federal Capital Territory Football Association (FCT FA), Alhaji Adam Mouktar Mohammed, has congratulated the newly-elected president of Nigeria Football Federation, Ibrahim Musa Gusau and charged him to revitalise the round leather game which he said has dwindled in recent years in the country.
Mouktar Mohammed in a statement made available to Tribunesports by his media adviser, Uche Nwudoh, in Abuja is however optimistic that the new executive committee will take football affairs more seriously and treat it as a business venture on and off the pitch.Â
“I believe that football is not just a sport but a business. I hope the new board takes the affairs of football seriously as we have seen it plummet to an abysmal low level needing revitalization urgently. They should exploit the business side of football vigorously.
“I trust the new President to harmonize the football family by bringing everyone together for the development of football. He should listen to the aggrieved members of the family and resolve whatever their grievances are so that football wins always.
“There is no need for rancour in the ranks of football family, we should be one happy family united for development and progress of football. I urge Gusau to go about the business of managing Nigeria football the same way he did with FA Chairmen over the years. He should remain humble and committed as usual.”
Mouktar Mohammed, one of the 10 presidential candidates at September 30, 2022 election in Benin City, stepped down shortly before the commencement of voting.
