The Oyo State Government has restated its commitment to the promotion course of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan.
Commissioner for Youth and Sports in the state, Mr Seun Fakorede, disclosed this, when he paid a visit to the team’s training on Friday morning.
The commissioner, who was accompanied on the visit by top officials in the ministry, said the state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, told him that getting 3SC back to the elite league remains one of the major priority of his government.

“Engineer Makinde is very concerned about this team, he is thinking of nothing but how to ensure that the team reclaims the lost glory.
“We don’t want to dwell on old glories, we need to move ahead and that is why I want you to be committed and dedicated to this course”, said Fakorede.
The commissioner, assured the players of the government’s commitment to their welfare, stressing the readiness of the government to make available to the team, whatever would aid their performance.
“We will surely take seriously, the issue of your welfare. Whatever you believe you need, let it get to us through your management”.

Fakorede hinted that steps were already being taken for the success of the club.
Captain of the team Waheed Omololu, who had earlier introduced the players to the commissioner, later presented the Dapo Abiodun Pre-Season trophy, recently won by the club in Ijebu-Ode to him.
