The FCT chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has congratulated the quartet of Messrs Richard Jideaka, Niyi Busari, Michael Obasi and Ms. Dupe Oyewale on their recent appointments by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the House Committee on Sports respectively.
While Jideaka, a veteran journalist was appointed as member of the Futsal/Beach Soccer Committee of the NFF, the trio of Busari, Obasi and Oyewale were appointed by the Chairman, House Committee on Sports, Hon. Ekene Adams Abubakar, as media aides.
The chairman, FCT SWAN, Bunmi Haruna, while congratulating his members, described the appointments as well-deserved. He said he has no doubt that the quartet will deliver on their new roles by contributing to the development of sports in Nigeria.
“I was not surprised with their appointments. They deserve them because they have done well in their various assignments in the past,” Haruna stated.
Jideaka works with Complete Sports and he is also a Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL Match Commissioner. He was also the Secretary General of National SWAN, amongst others. Busari on the other hand is the publisher of BSN Sports, an online media. Obasi is also an experienced sports journalist working with Hot FM Abuja. Oyewale as well is a a seasoned sport journalist on radio and at a time was the Team Coordinator of the Under 17 Women’s National Team, the Flamingos.
The SWAN chairman however wished them the best while charging them to contribute their quota so as to make the association proud in their new assignments.
