The Flying Eagles of Nigeria will square off against hosts Argentina in the Round of 16 at the 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup.
The potential blockbuster will take place on Wednesday, with the young Nigerians facing a tricky tie ahead.
Despite initially leading Group D with six points from two group-stage matches, the Flying Eagles were unable to maintain their position after falling to a 2-0 defeat to Brazil on Friday. As per the tournament format, four of the six third-placed teams are paired with the winners of groups A, B, C, and D.

The draw matched Nigeria with Argentina, who emerged as winners of Group A. The South American powerhouse secured a perfect record in their group, winning all three matches and accumulating nine points, with an impressive goal difference of +9.
Ladan Bosso’s young charges will need to move past that Brazil defeat and improve their game in order to give themselves a fair chance of beating Argentina.
