Roberto Firmino was substituted during the win over Tottenham after being poked in the eye
Roberto Firmino is expected to start for Liverpool against Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) tonight.
The Brazilian forward suffered an eye injury after being caught by Jan Vertonghen’s flailing arm during the Reds’ win over Tottenham at the weekend.
He was taken to a hospital in London for tests which confirmed an abrasion of the eye but no lasting damage.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday ahead of the PSG clash, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp said he was hopeful his number nine would be available to face the French giants.
And it is understood Firmino has been included in the squad for the clash at Anfield.

“He couldn’t play today, no chance, but we are hoping tomorrow,” said Klopp, on Monday. “It is good news, it will be close. It was a big relief for all of us.”
Firmino is now set to line up alongside Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane in attack against PSG as Liverpool get their latest Champions League campaign under way.
Firmino, Salah and Mane were the most prolific strike force in the Champions League last season, plundering 30 goals between them, as the Reds reached the final.
But Liverpool will come up against a potent attack themselves on Tuesday night, with PSG boasting a forward line of Edinson Cavani, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar.
