Fofana wanted at Watford

Watford are one of three clubs to have submitted an offer for Alanyaspor defender Mamadou Fofana, according to a report from Africa.

Footmali.com claim the Hornets, alongside Anderlecht and Metz, are keen on the 20-year-old Malian, who has started 15 league games for the Turkish Super Lig club.

But the player has previously expressed an interest in moving to England one day.

Fofana has been appearing as a defensive midfielder recently and was given a straight red card in relegation-threatened Alanyaspor’s recent 3-2 defeat at Kasimpasa.

Watford have previously signed one of Fofana’s teammates from Mali’s Under-17 World Cup squad – left winger Aly Malle – although he is now at Udinese after a loan spell at Granada.
