Former Sports Minister, Dalung, loses father

Former Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung has announced the death of his father, Nimgbak William Fabong Dalung, at the age of 105 years.

Dalung, in a WhatsApp chat with Sporting Tribune, said the death of his father came at a time he was preparing for the burial of his mother, Nalkat Yah Chirram, who died at the age of 90 early this month.

“While making final preparations for my mother’s burial on Saturday, 23/11/2023, I received yesterday, 18/12/2023, another devastating news of the passage of my father, Nimgbak William Fabong Dalung, at the age of 105 years.

“When he (the father) received the news of my mother’s exit, he called and commiserated with me. My father appreciated my modest efforts in taking care of them. He finally left me with these words, ‘Take heart because I am also on my way.’ Was these the parting gift, my beloved Nimgbak?

Nimgbak Dalung was a retired Director of Health with the Taraba State Local Government Service Commission.
