Friendly: Flying Eagles beat Lobi Stars 2-0

Flying Eagles continue with their impressive performance after beating Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, Lobi Stars of Makurdi 2-0.

Two goals in the second half by Haliru Sarki and Olusegun Otusanya helped Nigeria U-20 team in defeating Lobi Stars in a friendly match  played at FIFA Goal Project Pitch on Saturday.

Coach Ladan Bosso made 10 changes to the starting line up he used against Nasarawa United with only Tambe Nathaniel the survivor.

Jimoh Saheed, Dominion Ohaka, Hassan Shuaibu, Daniel Bamaiyi Wilfred George, Haliru Sarki, Nicholas Jonathan, Ayuba Francis, Godwin Fredrick and Divine Nwachukwu all came into the team as starters.

Despite creating chances, the Flying Eagles didn’t score in the first stanza.

But the stadium finally came alive in the second half with the Flying Eagles on the offensive and they were soon rewarded when Haliru Sarki drew the first blood from a free kick in the 76th minute.

The goal brought confidence into the Nigeria U20 side and they held on to the lead despite occasional threats by the Pride of Benue.

Second goal of the match did not come until the 86th minute. Substitute Otusanya put the
ball behind the goalkeeper.
