The race for the UEFA Champions League top scorer is heading into its final stage, with only a few players still in contention ahead of the final between Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal.
While the competition will crown a new European champion later this month, attention is also on the battle for the tournament’s top scorer award after the conclusion of the semi-finals on Wednesday.
Kylian Mbappé currently leads the scoring chart with 15 goals despite Real Madrid failing to reach the final.
Close behind him is Harry Kane with 14 goals after Bayern Munich exited the competition in the semi-finals against PSG.
PSG stars still in contention
With both Mbappé and Kane no longer involved in the tournament, PSG winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia remains the closest challenger still active in the competition.
The Georgian forward has scored 10 goals and could still reduce the gap in the final against Arsenal.
His teammate Ousmane Dembélé is also among the leading scorers with seven goals after adding to his tally during PSG’s semi-final clash against Bayern Munich.
Arsenal representation
Arsenal also have a player on the scorers list, with Gabriel Martinelli scoring six goals during the club’s run to the final.
The Premier League side reached the final after eliminating Atlético Madrid in the semi-finals.
