Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi has been named the 2025 CAF African Footballer of the Year after a season that saw him excel for both Paris Saint-Germain and the Moroccan national team.
The award marks a major milestone in his career as he continues to rise among the continent’s elite players.
Hakimi edged past Egypt’s Mohamed Salah and Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen to claim the top honour as his consistency, influence and big-game performances helped set him apart from the other finalists.
The ceremony also recognised standout performers in the women’s categories.
Nigeria’s Chiamaka Nnadozie, now at Brighton, secured the CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year award for the third straight time, underlining her dominance between the posts.
Moroccan midfielder Ghizlaine Chebbak was named the CAF Women’s Player of the Year, adding another major accolade to her career and rounding off a strong night for North African football.
