‘Funny in dressing room’, Van der Sar speaks on Cristiano Ronaldo at Man United

Manchester United legend Edwin van der Sar recently in a podcast shared his views on former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo who has widely split opinions among football fans.

Van Der Sar acknowledged that although Ronaldo is often misunderstood, he is actually a great individual in person.

Speaking on the High Performance Podcast, the former Ajax executive stated that Ronaldo was a very funny character in the dressing room, and always took his time to play with his teammate’s children when he brought them to the dressing room.

 “Cristiano is a good guy. A lot of people have a really different opinion about him.

“But I found him funny in the dressing room. If I brought my kids, he would always play with them. I think what he did is incredible.

Together, they secured three Premier League titles, one UEFA Champions League trophy, and one FIFA Club World Cup title at Manchester United.

Van der Sar is widely regarded as one of the greatest goalkeepers in the club’s history, while Ronaldo’s status as one of the greatest footballers of all time is widely acknowledged.
