‘My future at Arsenal is uncertain’

Wenger has stood his ground denying any exits from the club this summer, but some players admit that their future is not tied to the club.

Last season, Olivier Giroud started only 11 games for the Gunners, a figure that is not likely to increase after the arrival of club-record signing Alexandre Lacazette.

Arsene Wenger insisted that the club’s ‘resolution is to keep him’, the French striker is not so sure. ‘I honestly don’t know’, the striker said when asked about his position. ‘At the moment I’m still an Arsenal player so I’ll try to be professional like always and prepare well for next season’.

‘Obviously there will be more competition, even more than last year, but it’s always nice for a striker to feel the pressure and I always deal with it’.

After five years at the Emirates, Giroud is not afraid of new challenges, but Everton and West Ham have expressed interest in the Frenchman. ‘I’ve been through some difficulties these last years but always succeeded to bounce back, but this one I don’t know. I don’t know about my future so I can’t tell you more. I’m focused on my pre-season’.
