ALGERIAN midfieder, Nabil Bentaleb, says national team players have the tapes of Nigeria’s Super Eagles ahead of the November 12 Russia 2018 African Group 2 qualifier and as such have the weapon to fight for their lives.
The Fennec Foxes are second in the group with one point from a draw at home to Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions and the Schalke 04 loanee is happy with the progress made on Match day 2 against the Eagles of Nigeria.
“I am glad we have the tape,” Bentaleb told Kicker.
“Our Scouting Department got this right, unlike what happened against Cameroon when most of the team were in the dark.”
Bentaleb added that the fact that most of the Nigerian opponents play in the topflight makes the match very difficult.
“I am sorry if I am wrong to say this, the game against Nigeria is a fight for our lives. We need to win and not draw but we are mindful that Nigeria are already on full course.’’
He dismissed suggestions that the changes in the coaching crew would hurt Algeria’s chances.
“It is a qualifier, we just need somebody to give direction, we all want to go to the World Cup and play for the Algerian pride.”
