Team Kwara’s Adekunle Feranmi and Babatunde Abdullateef have expressed their determination to go for gold in future editions of the National Sports Festival, following their impressive silver medal finish in both the badminton mixed doubles and team events at the ongoing Gateway Games 2024.
Speaking after their events, the duo acknowledged that while their original target was gold, earning silver is a strong motivation and a step closer to achieving their ultimate goal.

Feranmi noted, “I’m looking forward to representing Nigeria in both national and international championships. With hard work, resilience, and dedication, I believe I can achieve this dream.”
On his part, Abdullateef expressed a strong desire to break new records for Kwara State, stating, “My focus is on delivering gold for the state next time. I deeply appreciate my coach for the effective guidance and technical support that brought us this far.”
With their performances and ambition, both athletes are positioning themselves as rising stars in Nigerian badminton, promising greater achievements in the near future.
