The Old Boys Association (OBA) of Government College Ibadan (GCI), at the weekend, defeated the present boys in a cricket exhibition game organised to celebrate the school’s 90 years of existence.
National Social Secretary and the Chairman of the OBA committee, Mr Yinka Adepoju, stressed that cricket is a major game recognised in the school, in which the school has also represented the country at international level.
He stated that the exhibition match was included in the reunion party to teach the present boys how to play cricket professionally.
Vice President of Old School Boys Association (OBA), Mr Tola Obembe, in his remarks, said that the essence of the corporate social responsibility is to provide service to the nation as the reunion shouldn’t be based on celebration alone.
“There is a need to feed and give to the less privileged,” he said.
Among the dignitaries who graced the cricket exhibition game were Dr Victor Omololu Olunloyo, former governor of Oyo State and Chief Oyebisi Ilaka, Chief of Staff, Oyo State.
