Gianfranco Zola: Why Chelsea have so much more to come despite beating Tottenham

CHELSEA will only improve for the remainder of the season.

That’s according to Blues legend Gianfranco Zola who was impressed with the 2-1 win against title rivals Tottenham.

Pedro and Victor Moses scored for Antonio Conte’s side as they came from behind to grab all three points and return to the top of the Premier League table.

Zola told BT Sport: “It is important to win games like that. You cannot play as well as maybe they played against Everton or Leicester – games like this.

“But when you don’t play your best game and win, especially games against good teams like Tottenham you have to be very, very pleased.

“That is the right way, although you know that they will have to improve.

“They can still do better in my opinion but it is a very good indication.”

Christian Eriksen had given Tottenham the lead in the 11th minute but Chelsea responded to make it seven wins in a row.

Next up for the Blues is a tough trip to Manchester City next weekend as they look to continue their title challenge.

Pep Guardiola’s side beat Burnley earlier today while Liverpool were also victorious against Sunderland.
