Erling Haaland has dazzled football fans following his five-star performance where he scored five times in Manchester City’s 7-0 thrashing of RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie on Tuesday.
Haaland’s performance led to him breaking Man City’s record for most goals in a season set by Tommy Johnson in the 1928-29 season, while also becoming the youngest and fastest player to score 30 Champions League goals.
In the aftermath of his impressive performance, football fans took to social media to wax lyrical about Haaland.
Here are some reactions gathered by The Quest Times
Pep Guardiola reacts: “Haaland equalled Messi’s record, but he did it in 60 minutes, it’s different. Who knows if he would have played 90 minutes? He’s young, so he should use the incentive of beating Messi’s record in the future.”

@sujodamystique 4 of Haaland‘s goals were rebounds and the other one a penalty. Not sure if that makes him a great poacher or one lucky bastard
@AbjaFCB Once Haaland and Mbappe have all the goal records, I’ll see what Ronaldo will be left with. I know what Messi will be left with
@Omojuwa Believe it or not, Guardiola removed Haaland because he didn’t want him to break that Messi “5 goals” record. Lol.

@_AsiwajuLerry This app will not contain us if Man City don’t end up winning the UCL with all the goals Haaland is scoring this season.
@gyaigyimii People think what Haaland is doing at City is so easy. They think every striker will just fit into the system. Why do you think Jesus left City?
