Giroud on suicide mission

Olivier Giroud’s lack of game-time this season has given him time to think about taking up other sports.

Despite admitting that he has never been in a cage, the French forward seemed open to the prospect of fighting UFC superstar Conor McGregor and called out the Irish featherweight champion on Arsenal’s YouTube channel.

Giroud, staring down the barrel of the lens, said: ‘McGregor, when you want’, before sighing: ‘Okay… I’m dead.’

The 30-year-old striker was taking part in a ‘Rapid Fire’ episode with fellow Gunner Laurent Koscielny, who also didn’t seem to fancy his team-mate’s chances against McGregor.
