The 22nd Python Open 2018 Golf Tournament will take place from October 25 to 28 at the Python International Golf Club, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
According the Club Competition Secretary, Kunle Oyegoke, the two-day 36-Holes event would attract no fewer than 300 golfers across the country.
Oyegoke said the tournament is geared at developing Niger Delta youths and empowering them through sporting activities.
He expressed optimism that the tournament would also bring development to the club just as he said Python Open has been a successful brand in the last 22 years.
“This annual golfing event is in its 22nd edition, hosted by Python International Golf Club, formerly known as Air Assault Golf Club. The Open attracts professional golfers from Nigeria and also the cream de la cream of amateur golfers in the country.

“For this year, it is a four-day event, from October 25 to 28. The Pro/Am begins with the invited professionals and category one players playing over two days, Thursday and Friday, October 25 to 26 while categories two and three are expected to make a cut on Saturday, 27 and the final rounds is on Sunday with closing ceremony holding the same day by 5:00pm.
“We expect golfers to sharpen their swings and savour our challenging golf course as we promise a hitch-free tournament. Logistics have been put in place to make it a success,” he said.
Oyegoke also assured participants and spectators of a weekend of memorable golfing in Port Harcourt.
Meanwhile cocktail party will hold on Friday, October 26 at 7:00pm.
