Grealish’s late winner for Everton ends Palace unbeaten run

Jack Grealish scored a dramatic 93rd-minute winner as Everton came from behind to end Crystal Palace’s club-record 19-match unbeaten run in all competitions.

Daniel Muñoz had earlier put Palace ahead in the first half with a neat finish, setting the visitors on course for a third consecutive Premier League victory and a third straight win on the road.

Palace dominated the opening 45 minutes, with Tyrick Mitchell hitting the post before Muñoz scored for the second game running.

Ismaila Sarr provided the assist, cutting the ball across the box for the Colombian to slot past Jordan Pickford, who was marking his 300th Premier League appearance for Everton.

The Toffees struggled to find rhythm before the break, but manager David Moyes made two changes at half-time, introducing Tyler Dibling and Thierno Barry to inject pace into the side.

Everton improved after the restart, pressing higher and showing more intent in attack, and were rewarded with an equaliser 14 minutes from time.

Iliman Ndiaye converted from the penalty spot after Maxence Lacroix brought down substitute Tim Iroegbunam inside the area.

That goal revived the home crowd and lifted the Toffees, who pushed for a winner in the closing stages.

Their persistence paid off deep into stoppage time when Grealish pounced on a rebound after Dean Henderson’s point-blank save from Beto, slotting home his first goal in an Everton shirt.

The win marked Everton’s first Premier League victory since August and handed Palace their first defeat since April 16.

Grealish, on loan from Manchester City, will miss Everton’s next match against his parent club after the international break, but his late strike offered Moyes a timely reminder of his quality.

Everton face Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on October 18, while Crystal Palace will look to bounce back when they host Bournemouth at Selhurst Park the same day.
