Green House wins 4th Pearly Inter House sports competition

Green House has emerged as winners of the 4th Inter House sports competition of Pearly Gate Academy, Ore, Ondo State which was held on Wednesday at the school’s playing ground.

The school proprietor, Pastor B.B Aremo while speaking at the event said it was part of efforts to groom future stars and leaders who will bring honour and glory to Nigeria by flying her flag at regional, continental and international sports competitions.

According to him, sports keeps people fit, entertained and enhance interpersonal relationship while adding that bodily exercise can not be undermined or overlooked.

He said every event competed for has its own significance in development and global socialisation.

The proprietor equally expressed gratitude to the organizing committee, his wife, Lady pastor P.K Aremo and house patrons for contributing immensely to the success of the inter-house sports competition.

The sporting event kick started with a march-past, where each house marched round the field displaying their colourful house banners, parade followed by other sport activities which included 50m, 75m ,sack race, the 100m race, 200m, relay race, invitation relay and the parents’ race.

The deputy director, coaching, Ondo state Sports Council, Babatunde Ayodele, commended the sports committee for a top-of-the- class organisation.

“With the performances l have seen here today, it showed that the students have been well-trained. Kudos to the house masters, mistresses and the committee.

“l will enjoin the parents not to discourage their children from pursuing a career in sports, it could be way to project them to the stardom,” Ayodele stated.

At the end of the game, Green House emerged overall winner with 289 Purple House emerged second with 272 points while the Blue house emerged 3rd with 220points. Orange house came fourth with 208points. Certificates and trophies were presented to the deserving houses and students.
