The Catalan stayed in the dressing room with his players for around 50 minutes after the 1-1 stalemate with Southampton before he emerged to speak to the media on Sunday
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola delayed his post-match press conference following the 1-1 draw with Southampton because he was enjoying some red wine.
The Catalan reportedly stayed in the dressing room with his players for around 50 minutes before emerging to speak to the media at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
City shared the spoils with Southampton as their winless run in all competitions under Guardiola stretched to five games.
But when questioned why he spent so long with his charges after the game, Guardiola played down reports he was fuming with his players after the full time whistle.
“The red wine was good and I took a little bit longer,” Guardiola replied.
A mistake from John Stones allowed Nathan Redmond to open the scoring for Southampton before Kelechi Iheanacho equalised after the interval.
City huffed and puffed in the second half but they failed to beat Fraser Forster again to record their second straight Premier League stalemate.
Guardiola’s men last tasted victory against Swansea City in the league on September 24.
