Manchester United and Manchester City to compete for Viktor Gyokeres, Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton a target for Manchester City, Aston Villa among clubs keen on Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee, and other transfer stories.

New Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has made signing Sweden striker Viktor Gyokeres from former club Sporting a priority for next summer but Manchester City also want the 26-year-old. (Sunday Mirror).

Manchester United have made contact with Real Madrid over the potential signing of midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, 22, but the France international is not keen on the move. (Bernabeu Digital – in Spanish).

The Old Trafford club are also keeping an eye on Paris St-Germain’s Portuguese full-back Nuno Mendes, 22, who played under Amorim at Sporting. (Mail on Sunday).

But the three full-backs shortlisted by Manchester United owners Ineos are Bayern Munich’s Canada international Alphonso Davies, 24, Serbian Milos Kerkez, 21 from Bournemouth and Benfica’s Spanish defender Alvaro Fernandez Carreras, 21 – who only left Old Trafford last summer. (Express).

Aston Villa have joined a number of Italian clubs in showing an interest in taking Manchester United and Netherlands striker Joshua Zirkzee, 23, on loan in January. (Caught Offside).

Arsenal could offer an astronomical fee to land AC Milan’s Netherlands midfielder Tijjani Reijnders, 26, next summer. (Fichajes – in Spanish).

Manchester City are preparing to make a January approach for Crystal Palace’s England midfielder Adam Wharton, 20. (Teamtalk).
