Heartland Queens head coach Obi Ogbala has disclosed that the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) side will sign new players to fortify the team ahead of the second stanza of the season.
Heartland Queens wrapped up the first stanza of the ongoing 2024/25 NWFL Premiership season with a 3-0 victory over Confluence Queens in a matchday seven game played at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.
“We have to inject new players into the team to make it solid. We have identified the kind of players we need and we hope to have them for the second round of the campaign,” he said.

Agbala expressed joy for picking three points, which was his team’s first win of the season.
The homers scored just two minutes into the game and added two more goals to send the visitors out of Owerri empty-handed.
Ogbala said that he actually motivated his players to do wonders, adding that pressure from fans also aided the team to brace up.
“This victory is a morale booster and it will propel us to do better in the second round,” he told Sporting Tribune.
