Heroic Sports Club inaugurates c’tee on u-15 school football tourney

All is set for Oyo State U-15 Private Secondary Schools football competition schedule for this year in Ibadan, Oyo State capital with organising committee named for the event.

The tournament will be organised by Heroic Image Sports Club, in conjunction with Oyo State Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Speaking at the press briefing held at Brighton Hotel and Suites Limited on Thursday, the President, Heroic Image Sports Club, Comrade Kenneth Umeh said Oyo State U-15 Private Secondary Schools football competition is an effort at the collegiate level to promote football talent among scholars with the challenge to promote football and sports in general by private institutions.

”With the story of Akinwunmi Amao Ayobami of Brightville College who successfully represented Nigeria at the U-17 level fresh in mind, we  are encouraged to unleash many scholars of like talent on the field.”

Meanwhile, the Director of Sports Administration, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mrs Adegoke, who represented Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Barrister Abayomi Oke  said the project is a welcome development which will hopefully produce new talents for the state and Nigeria as a whole.

The committee inaugurated to fast run the programme includes Mrs Adegoke, Mr Toyin Ogunniran from Ministry of Education, Dimeji Lawal, General Manager of Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan, Kehinde Ojelowo from Oyo State FA, among others.
