Hope for Arsenal as Man City handed tight EPL schedule

Manchester City have been handed a tight run-in in the Premier League title race after the league confirmed rescheduled dates that will see Pep Guardiola’s side play four matches in 11 days next month.

The scheduling adds extra pressure on the City as they continue their push at the top end of the table, with key fixtures now tightly packed around their domestic commitments.

Guardiola’s side will host Crystal Palace on Wednesday, 13 May, before facing a quick turnaround into a trip to Bournemouth on 19 May. Sandwiched in between is the FA Cup final against Chelsea on Saturday, 16 May.

The fixture adjustments were confirmed after earlier postponements linked to City’s involvement in cup competitions, and the Palace game was originally set for 22 March but was moved due to the Carabao Cup final against Arsenal, while the Bournemouth fixture was also shifted because of the FA Cup final clash.

For Arsenal, the revised schedule is seen as a potential boost in the title race, with City now required to manage fatigue and squad rotation during a decisive phase of the season.

City, Palace and Bournemouth had been in discussions with the Premier League over the final dates before agreement was reached.

City’s remaining league fixtures underline the challenge ahead, with away trips to Everton and Bournemouth, a home clash with Brentford, and a final-day meeting with Aston Villa.

The run-in now places Guardiola’s squad under increased physical and tactical strain as they attempt to balance domestic cup and league demands.

9 May: Brentford (h)

13 May: Crystal Palace (h)

16 May: FA Cup final v Chelsea
