Hugo Lloris
HUGO LLORIS says Saturday’s trip to Chelsea in perfect for Tottenham as they look to recover from last night’s Champions League exit.
Spurs crashed out of Europe’s glamour competition after a 2-1 defeat at Monaco.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men must now dust themselves down and get ready for a trip across London to rivals Chelsea.
Their title challenge ended at the hands of the Blues last season after a 2-2 drae secured top spot for Leicester.
And Lloris reckons the trip to Stamford Bridge will be the perfect tonic for Tottenham’s players.
“I have no doubt about that,” he said when quizzed about the Chelsea visit being just right for the club to bounce back from.
“I said the same after we lost against Leverkusen at Wembley, this is the best type of game to bounce back (they travelled to Arsenal the following Sunday).
“The only thing is to digest the frustration of this defeat and look forward.”
Lloris also pinpointed where it all went wrong for Tottenham in Monaco.
“We’re very disappointed, very frustrated with the way we played, the way we started the game too slowly, too sluggish,” he added.
“Finally, I don’t think we deserved to win, Monaco were better in a lot of areas in the game.
“It’s a big disappointment but we need to keep our chins up because it’s a big game on Saturday.”
