Antoine Griezmann
In a year that saw him crowned Europa League, European Super Cup and World Cup winner, Atletico Madrid’sAntoine Griezmann has revealed that he is now struggling with fatigue.
“I can still improve. I’m not at my best level but it has been a long year and sometimes, I lack speed and sharpness,” he told BeIN.
“I’m very happy to be able to help the team but it has been a long year with little rest so games like this are difficult.
Griezmann’s two-goal salvo helped Atletico to an important three points at Real Valladolid over the weekend. The striker scored from the penalty spot and then grabbed the winning goal with 10 minutes remaining for a vital 3-2 Rojiblancos victory.

“We let them back into the game and that meant that we suffered a lot, something [Diego] Simeone warned us about at the break.”
However, despite throwing a two goal lead away and relying on Griezmann to rescue them at the end, Atletico should take plenty of positives from their first half display.
“We know that we have to improve but it was important to win away from home,” the former Real Sociedad ace added.
“I think we put over a good image and our first half was very good so we can be happy with what we did.”
