I rejected PSG for Arsenal ―Guendouzi

Matteo Guendouzi says he didn’t hesitate when approached by Arsenal, despite also attracting interest from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

The 19-year-old joined Arsenal over the summer in a deal reported to be worth around £7million after impressing in Ligue 2 with Lorient.

Guendouzi has impressed during his short time at the Emirates but he admits Arsenal weren’t the only club keen on acquiring his services.

The midfielder, who started out his youth career with PSG, confirmed the French giants were eager to take him back to the capital, however, Guendouzi insists his mind was made up as soon as he heard about interest from north London.

Guendouzi said to Canal: ‘It’s true that PSG showed interest this summer, like other clubs.

‘There were lots of discussions. But for me, the best choice was to join Arsenal. As soon as they approached me, I did not hesitate a single second and I concentrated solely on their proposition.
