I take responsibility for poor results — Ex-Chelsea coach Potter

Former Chelsea coach, Graham Potter, has taken responsibility for Chelsea’s poor run of form during his time in charge of the club.

Chelsea appointed Potter in September 2022 after Thomas Tuchel was sacked. They paid Brighton around £21m in compensation for the manager and a host of his backroom staff.

Although Potter signed a five-year contract, he was relieved of his job after less than seven months in charge.

In a statement obtained from Fabrizio Romano’s X handle on Friday, Potter said, “I take responsibility for the results.

“But the easy solution is Chelsea aren’t winning, so it must be the coach..he’s the problem. That might not be 100 per cent wrong, but it’s not 100 per cent right.”

Potter was sacked after just over six months in charge winning 12 matches, eight draws and losing 11 in all competitions.
