Newly-elected Captain of Tiger Golf Club (TGC), Odogbo Cantonment, Ibadan, Barrister Tunde Akande has promised to build on the legacies and achievements left behind by the past captains.
Speaking on his inaugural ceremonial tee off on Saturday, Akande said it became necessary to add values to the club.
The tournament which was organised to celebrate Akande as the new Captain of TGC and the ceremonial tee off was done by the GOC 2 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Gold Chibuisi alongside other captains of golf clubs.

He urged members of TGC to remain focused saying it has its own health and recreational benefits.
Akande urged them to support the new executive and key into the vision and development they want to inject into the club.
“I want to build on the developments and legacies left behind by past Captains and our priority is to focus on making the course playable and making the course one of the best courses in Nigeria.
“We have identified necessary equipment and machines that will be able to keep the course in good condition. So, we are pursuing that and we are almost through with phase one and move to the second phase.

“We also want to encourage more members to be part of the membership drive and good so ensure the course is busy. We intend to use Tiger Golf Club as a project contact to develop the civil/military relationship which we have started well and we are engaging members who are in the military to ensure that area is well looked into.
“We have started expansion of our Greens while four out 19 have been expanded,” he said.
Meanwhile, Col. Mohammed Mandara won the tournament after playing a Net score of 73.
