Ibrahimovic fails to net despite hitting shots record

Despite mustering 12 shots – a Premier League high since December 2011 – on Saturday, the Manchester United star was still unable to find a way past Tom Heaton

Zlatan Ibrahimovic was unable to net for Manchester United in their 0-0 draw with Burnley despite taking 12 shots – the most by a player in a Premier League match since Robin van Persie for Arsenal in December 2011.

The Swede endured a frustrating afternoon in front of goal for Jose Mourinho’s men, as three points evaded them once again despite their 37 shots at Old Trafford.

And it was Ibrahimovic who accounted for the lion’s share of United’s chances on Saturday afternoon, cutting a disenchanted figure by the end as his side sink down the Premier League table.

The veteran has now gone six league games without scoring for the first time since December 2007 while he was at Inter.
