‘Ibrahimovic will return to Milan’

AC Milan general manager Leonardo has hinted the Italian giants could seek to bring in former star Zlatan Ibrahimovic in January.

Ibrahimovic spent two years with the Rossoneri between 2010 and 2012, managing 56 goals in 85 appearances in all competitions.

The 37-year-old striker currently plays for LA Galaxy but could be available for a loan move in the winter transfer window as the MLS season ends in December.

Ibrahimovic’s agent Mino Raiola indicated over the weekend that the forward would be open to a return to the San Siro for the second half of the season and Leonardo has admitted the club could be tempted to bring the veteran in on a temporary deal.

“It’s normal that there’s a personal connection with him. When we first arrived we thought about it, even at the age of 37 he can drag a team,” he told reporters.

“Right now the transfer window is closed, we have to do things calmly and not forget that there are some Financial Fair Play stakes.

“We want to build a competitive team.”
