Ideye and Obasi continue great form in Europe

The 27-year-old attacker’s fine run in front of goal continued when he netted against AEK Athens, with his compatriot also shining for AIK

Brown Ideye continued his impressive early-season form for Olympiacos, scoring in their 3-0 defeat of AEK Athens on Sunday evening.

His sixth minute opener powered the Legends past the visitors at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium.

With this strike, the Nigeria international has now scored four times in five games, as his side sit in second position behind league leaders, Panathinaikos who lead with just a point.

Ideye will be expected to get the goals for Nigeria when they face Zambia in Sunday’s 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifier in Ndola.

Elsewhere, Chinedu Obasi got a goal and an assist as his Swedish outfit, AIK walloped IFK Norrkoeping 6-0 at the Friends Arena, Solna.

Obasi who joined the Gnaget from Schalke 04 assisted Stefan Ishizaki for the first goal, before registering his name on the scorers’ sheet in the 63rd minute with Alexander Isak helping with the assist.

The Nigerian now has five goals from six league games to his credit, while his team are third on Allsvenskan log with 50 points from 25 games.
