All is set for the Captain’s Day inaugural Golf Kitty scheduled for Saturday at Ibadan Golf Club, Onireke, Ibadan.
The tournament is being organised to usher in new the executive of the Club led by Col. Ade Sunmonu (retd).
Speaking with Sporting Tribune, Sunmonu, newly-elected Captain of IGC said about 200 golfers across the country are expected to participate in the one-day kitty.
Sunmonu said that logistics have been put in place to make the kitty a memorable one.

“I will continue from where my predecessor, Mr Olumide Oyediran stopped because he achieved a lot. Having served as his deputy, I understudied him [Oyediran] and it is my plan to establish the blueprint for the Club, at least 5-10 years developmental plan. The plan of the new executive is to serve the interest of members of the Club well.
“Maintenance of the Greens is simplest thing for any leader because every organisation has its rules and regulations clearly stated which must be followed. We will ensure our Greens are properly handled to be one of the best in the country,” Sunmonu said.
Meanwhile, the cocktail party and practice hold today as the tournament proper tees off tomorrow, while the closing ceremony holds the same day by 5:00pm.
