IGC to host LBSAA golf tournament

Ibadan Golf Club is set to host the second edition of the Lagos Business School Alumni Association (LBSAA) scheduled for this weekend at the club house, Onireke, Ibadan.

The tournament will see over 120 golfers, both males and females, participate in the one-day event.

Speaking at the press briefing to herald the tournament, President of the association, South Western zone, Mr Seyi Alaba, revealed that the maiden edition was held at Ikoyi Golf Club 1938 last year.

He disclosed that they would be having networking session and welcome party on Friday, while the tournament proper would hold on Saturday, May 3.

He said “The tournament is not about the golfers only; we have made provision for non golfers and we tagged it ‘Golf Clinic’ where professional golfers will engage them on the practice range.

“For the Golf Clinic, we are engaging some members of the association and their spouses so as to introduce them to the game of golf.

“We are also going to have tourism for people who are not residents of Ibadan. We have made provisions to visit the museum at the Cocoa House, Bower Tower and the Olubadan palace.”

Also, representative of the Dean, Lagos Business School (LBS) and President and Leadership of LBS alumni association, Omotayo Akinyede said she’s optimistic that it would be a memorable tournament.

Akinyede, who is also the Relationship Manager of LBS, said the essence of the tournament is to engage their members from various aspects, sports, recreation, entrepreneurship and so many other things.

“Golf is coming up because we discovered that we have a lot of families in the community playing golf and this is an opportunity for them to play together, learn and network.”

She thanked the Ibadan Golf Club for hosting the tournament.

In his remarks, the competition secretary of the club, Mr Bunmi Oladimeji, said Ibadan Golf Club is elated to host the tournament.

“Over 120 golfers have registered to participate and we are so happy that we are hosting the second edition of LBSAA golf tournament.”

Present at the briefing include, IGC Second Vice Captain, Mr Bayo Titilola-Sodo, Competition Secretary, Mr Bunmi Oladimeji, Treasurer, Mr Mike Babalola and House and Bar Officer, Mr Kayode Adelekun.
