Ilechukwu pleased with MFM home form

Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries (MFM) FC manager, Fidelis Ilechukwu has commended his team’s perfect home start to the new NPFL season following recording their second back to back win in at home on Wednesday.

MFM FC extended its unbeaten home run to 25 matches after a 2-1 triumph over FC IfeanyUbah in Matchday 4 of the 2018 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) played on Wednesday at the Soccer Temple, Agege Stadium.

Speaking to after their victory over FC IfeanyiUbah, the Olukoya Boys’ head coach says he’s happy his boys are beginning to understand what it means to make their home turf a fortress.

“We’ve had a good home run so far and I’m happy with the shift put in by the boys.

“That we are 25 games without a defeat at home means we’ve made it mandatory to ensure that this ground (Soccer Temple) becomes a fortress.

“But our home achievement couldn’t have been impossible without the fans and my players. So I would use this medium to commend the boys and the fans who. I look at the stands every match day and it gives me joy that we have the fans behind us.

“As much there’s room for improvement, they have been massive for us and we can only repay them by delivering positive results everytime we take to the turf.” said Ilechikwu

Akila Jesse scored after 15 minutes after benefiting from a Tchato Giscard pass but were pegged back by Seka Pascal’s half hour equaliser.

Sikiru Olatunbosun restored MFM’s lead in the 42nd minute after latching on to a poor back pass in the vistors’ area to power home a shot that was bundled home by the goalkeeper.

Up next for Ilechukwu and his troops is an away trip to leaders and title holders Plateau United in Jos.
