Victor Moses
CHELSEA’S Victor Moses is hoping that he can force his way into contention for Nigeria’s final World Cup qualifier against Algeria on November 10.
The Super Eagles, though, have already secured their place in Russia next summer and will also face Argentina in a friendly in Krasnodar next month.
Injured Moses on Tuesday hinted he would like to join his teammates for the clashes.
‘Why not?. We are already in Russia but have not completed the qualifiers. I am hoping to return with the Eagles, it is good to be part of the history we are writing,” Moses told The Sentinel on Tuesday.
However, his anticipated recovery is likely to cause problems for national team handler, Gernot Rohr, who on Monday released a list of players for the matches.
Moses was omitted because of the injury and the player’s intention to rejoin the national team may not please Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte who wanted him admitted he could face further time away from the pitch.
Speaking ahead of the weekend trip to Bournemouth, the Italian said: ‘Moses is out. For him we must have patience before seeing him in the team.’
