Injured Onyekuru encouraged by Nigerians’ concern

Super Eagles’ forward, Henry Onyekuru said he has received encouraging calls and messages from Coach Rohr and the team’s backroom staff since his injury, while also pointing out that their heartfelt messages are soul- lifting and will help speed up his recovery.

Onyekuru, who injured his medial ligament last December in a Belgian league game, revealed that he has received soul- lifting messages and calls from Super Eagles Technical Adviser Gernot Rohr, his assistants and has also spoken to a number of the backroom staff since his injury.

According to him, their gesture means a lot to him and will aid his recovery.

“It is always a good feeling when the staff and coaches send you messages about your health from time to time. It speeds up recovery and I feel I am not left alone,” he told AOIFootball.com.

The forward is expected to find out if he would need surgery on his knee and will immediately begin treatment.
