Inter Milan sack coach Frank de Boer

Inter Milan have sacked coach Frank de Boer.

The Nerazzurri have lost five Serie A games — including Sunday’s 1-0 reverse at Sampdoria — and are on the brink of elimination from the Europa League after two defeats from three games.

Youth team coach, Stefano Vecchi, has taken Inter training — with former Swansea boss, Francesco Guidolin among the candidates to replace De Boer.

A summer of heavy spending was expected to bring with it a title challenge this season.

Reports in Italy said De Boer was to be fired during a phone call with the club’s Chinese owners.

The Suning Holdings Group bought a majority share in the club in June and has acted quickly with the side languishing in 12th place in Serie A.
