The race for supremacy in the 2025 Edo Men’s Cricket League is tightening, with Invictus Cricket Club and Integrity Force CC emerging as the standout contenders as the season gathers early momentum.
Invictus CC, already setting the pace at the top of the log, will be seeking to stretch their unbeaten run when they face Dolphins CC this weekend at the Edo Boys High School, Benin City.
The league leaders have hit the ground flying, dispatching No Limit CC by 35 runs before crushing U-17 Cricket Club with an emphatic 129-run victory.
Those convincing wins have handed them a commanding Net Run Rate (NRR) of 4.556, placing them firmly in control of the standings and sending a clear signal to the rest of the field.
But the task ahead remains far from routine. Crusaders CC and second-placed Integrity Force CC have the unenviable assignment of attempting to halt the Invictus charge when fixtures resume on Saturday at the High Performance Centre, Edo Boys High School, Ugbowo.
With their batsmen in frightening form, Invictus present a formidable challenge.
Vincent Adewoye sits atop the run charts with 111 runs from two matches, closely trailed by teammate Elijah Saturday Jimmy, who has posted 57 runs.
Their combined firepower has been central to Invictus’ early dominance.
Yet, Integrity Force CC are keeping the pressure alive. Like Invictus, they have won their first two matches and sit second only by NRR, boasting a strong 3.571.
Their clash with the table leaders on Saturday is already being billed as the weekend’s headline fixture — a contest that could reshape the table and ignite the title race.
