SHOOTING Stars fans had Ivorien import, Victor Assiri to thank as he scored the winner over visiting Niger Tornadoes in a Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL clash at the Lekan Salami Stadium on Sunday.
Sunday Faleye had opened scoring for the Shooting Stars when he coolly beat goalkeeper Mustapha Aliko in the 36th minute but Tornadoes’ Angel Wilfred Ammeh levelled scores in the 76th through a powerful angular volley.
Just nine minutes to the end of the match, substitute Assiri rose to the occasion offa Lekan Bola assist to send the home fans back home smiling.
