NIGERIAN international, Alex Iwobi, says he is delighted to be named Man of The Match in Saturday’s 3-0 win over London rivals, Chelsea at The Emirates.
However, the teenager wrote on his twitter handle that the win over Chelsea was more important than his player award because any of the Gunners could have been picked as Man of The Match of the star-studded game.
“Delighted to be named man of the match in such a game, however there could have been other man of the match as well. Great team performance. #AFC# BIG 17# 3 POINTS,” he wrote on his official Twitter handle.
Iwobi is one of the 23 players expected in Nigeria’s preparatory camp ahead of October 9 clash against Zambia’s Chipolopolo in Ndola and, bar injury, is expected to play a big role in the clash having missed out in Nigeria’s recent outing against Tanzania earlier in the month.
He further told the club’s website that the win over Chelsea was no fluke but a result of rigorous training sessions.
“We played well, especially in training, we’re working together very well. We’re training very well and we’re just putting a lot of training into matches, which was on show Saturday, ” he told told arsenal.com.
