Iwobi makes Boxing Day vow

NIGERIA youngster, Alex Iwobi wants Arsenal to win the hearts of the club’s fans back by ensuring win over West Bromwich Albion in the English Premier League on Boxing Day.

The 20-year-old in an interview with The Evening Standard said that a victory over West Brom is vital and has urged his team mates to produce a big performance at the Emirates Stadium.

“It is important for us to get back to winning ways as we have lost our last two matches [against Everton and Manchester City].

“Losing three straight matches won’t be good at all so we must raise our standards and beat West Brom [on Boxing Day], said Iwobi whose performance in the 1-2 loss to Everton was highly cricised by the Gunners’ fans.

Also on December 18, Iwobi was part of the team that lost also by 2-1 to Man City at The Etihad.

Iwobi has contributed two goals to the Arsenal cause in 21 matches in all competitions this season and he is one of the young players enjoying the confidence of manager Arsene Wenger.
