Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is convinced Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi is making inroads in his professional football development.
Iwobi was one of Arsenal’s best performers on Saturday as they hammered Swansea City 4-0 away from home in the Premier League.
Iwobi had a shot deflected into the net by Jack Cork in the 54th minute before seeing his cross turned home by the luckless Kyle Naughton, 13 minutes later.
Wenger was pleased to see his Nigerian charge influence matters in the opponent’s final third.
“Alex Iwobi has started to score goals and that is a good sign for us.
“Overall, I am convinced that when you are always in the box (and) when you force your opponents to dive at your shots, sometimes it goes for you and sometimes not.
“Today (on Saturday), it went for us,” Wenger told Premier League TV after the game at the Liberty Stadium.
Iwobi has scored twice in 17 Premier League appearances for Arsenal this season.
