Chelsea defeated Nottingham Forest 3–0 at the City Ground on Saturday, extending Forest manager Ange Postecoglou’s winless run to eight matches.
Taiwo Awoniyi made his first start of the season as Forest began brightly, creating chances through Elliot Anderson and Morgan Gibbs-White, but they failed to convert.
Chelsea, without key players Cole Palmer and Moisés Caicedo, were quiet in the first half but improved after the break. Pedro Neto provided the assist for Josh Acheampong’s opener before scoring from a free-kick to make it 2–0.
Reece James sealed the win with a late goal after a corner was only partially cleared.
Forest’s defensive lapses proved costly, and their owner, Evangelos Marinakis, left the stands before full time.
Chelsea have now won four of their last five visits to Forest, while Postecoglou’s position continues to come under scrutiny.
