After six defeats from 10 games including one at home and a draw, Nasarawa United Coach, Kabiru Dogo is understandably growing apprehensive with their poor run of form which has left them lying precariously within the drop zone with 10 points out of ten games.
The defeat to FC IfeanyiUbah in Nnewi Sunday evening meant the Solid Miners have gone three games with just one point, a 3-3 draw at home to lowly Kwara United on Match Day 9.
But Dogo was gracious in defeat and was quick to acknowledge that the hosts edged his side in the second half resulting in the lone goal.
He pointed to his players becoming complacent in the last half of the game as the reason they conceded and expressed fears that going three games without a win may have adverse mental effect on the players.
At a post-match interview with www.npfl.ng, Dogo began, “Congratulations to Ifeanyi Ubah, my boys conceded the game to them in the second half.”
“Dropping points at home last weekend and losing away on Sunday will affect the morale of the players but we will work to ensure that does not affect their performance going forward”, he concluded as the team headed back to Lafia to await Wikki Tourists for match day 11 fixture.
In the match at Nnewi, Pascal Seka struck on 55th minute to ensure all three points for FC IfeanyiUbah against Nasarawa United that came into the game looking to make up for the points they dropped at home last weekend against Kwara United.
With Anyanwu Daberechi missing two chances in the first half, the Anambra Warriors came into the second half more resolute to secure victory.
Ladan Bosso who said after the match that he is still trying to find the perfect combination for his new team started a familiar line up with Bamba Drissa in goal.
First half ended with both teams not scoring although the home team posed more threat.
Six minutes after the restart of second half, Bosso introduced Kone Yaya for Anyanwu Daberechi and the subscription improved his team’s play.
Kone and Seka had a good understanding of their movement and in the 55th minute, Kone crossed the ball to Seka who took on two defenders before shooting at goal sending the expectant fans into jubilation.
The Match continued with FCIU pressing and pinning the Lafia visitors to their own half although Nasarawa United defenders ensured they did not concede more than one goal.
