The United players all gave their match shirts to the travelling supporters at the Hawthorns after the 2-0 victory
Jose Mourinho spread the Christmas cheer to the Manchester United fans by ordering his squad to give their match shirt to the supporters who travelled to West Brom.
The whole of the United team chucked their jerseys towards the travelling faithful at the Hawthorns on Saturday night after the 2-0 win.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic found the net either side of the break to extend United’s unbeaten run in the league to eight matches.
It means that United could finish the weekend just three points off the top four.
And following the match, Mourinho revealed why he ordered his players to throw their shirts into the crowd.
“I told them to do that, [it’s] Christmas time,” the United boss told his post-match press conference.
“A shirt for a fan, coming direct from the game with sweat, means a lot.
“For them [United’s players], it is just another shirt that they would give to the kit man, or give to some friend, or they change with some West Bromwich Albion friends.
“I think to a fan it means a lot.
“It is a pity that not everyone can get one, but for the ones who get it, I think it is a great feeling.”
