JOSE MOURINHO is confident Zlatan Ibrahimovic won’t taunt old foe Pep Guardiola if he scores at Old Trafford.
Mourinho and Guardiola will resume their dugout duels today.
But it could turn out to be the rocky relationship between Ibrahimovic and Guardiola that steals the headlines.
Ibrahimovic has not spoken to the Spanish boss since he allowed him to leave Barcelona after just one season in 2010.
The Swedish striker hammered him in his book, but Mourinho has backed the United hitman to keep his cool and not disrespect his old boss when he is on the pitch.
Mourinho said: “I never read Zlatan saying Guardiola is a bad manager. I never read it.
“I don’t think he is motivated. It is normal between managers and players that you have more connections with some than others.
“But that doesn’t mean you hate each other. I read something that Eden (Hazard) is in love with Antonio (Conte) and was not in love with me.
“But he’s not my enemy. It’s feeling and that’s fine if it’s his feeling. I’m fine. I’m happy for him.
“So Zlatan didn’t have the best period of his career (at Barca) – but that’s fine.
“We are not expecting Zlatan to score a goal, then run to Pep, sliding on his knees, that’s not going to happen.
“You want stories, but I think the story is, I hope, a great 90 minutes between two teams full of good players in a mythical stadium. That’s the story.”
